Probably some type of nylon, two part epoxy with a good key on the carbon and the heel pad, maybe even some small holes drilled thru the pad.

What the hell is wrong with wearing a second hand suit? My brother got an amazing suit second hand and had it altered. It looked fantastic.
Point taken, which is why I asked about how much time he had. And I agree, a wedding suit should look fantastic.
The Romanian charity shop on teddington has good stuff, as do the charity shops in Kingston, but they get snapped up quickly.
The key word is "fantastic".

- and scrupulous cleaning after keying if an abrasive is used: dust from abraded CF works very well as a release agent.
Pattern drilling the 'nylon' to a modest depth should work as a mechanical key as well as increasing the bond area.
Could Sugru be used to make a complete replacement pad, moulded in situ by hand and bonded to the CF at the same time?

Long term storage options, you know like a shed or garage, in Streatham.
Anyone have any ideas?
Easy access, cheap price.contact your council ans rent a garage from them. they may only let if you are going to store a car, though.

I have a wheelset with campag track hubs (vintage, high flange). They have been modified / converted to road use with hollow axles and spacers for quick release skewers and to receive a block (there is space for a 5 or 6 speed block there). I'm pretty sure they are track hubs and not road as there is the two distinct threads section, for the cog and the lock ring:
- If I want to convert them back to track, can I use any standard track axles in there, as specific campag threaded track one probably cost an arm? Will standard cones work nicely against the campag cups of the hubs?
- The spokes are soldered. Does this mean it is impossible to re-dish the rear wheel (if I was to run it with a track cog), or will there be a bit of tolerance? Pretty sure the answer is no, but I just wanted to ask...
Thanks

The arms are identical, I reckon you'd be fine to do this however I wonder about axle length- if you do it please report back.
If I was the product designer for Rotor I'd want to be able to simply change the spider, so that all 165mm cranks were interchangeable- much more efficient in terms of tooling, production etc etc.

That's what I was thinking, I want to do it because they're a tiny bit too long for my next tarck build and I'm in the process of getting a road bike sorted out and want to use a shimano group but honestly can't abide the cranks and I've got this pair of rotors laying around so may as well put them to use!
I'll look a bit more into it and let you know how it goes.
I reckon running a road BB would sort out the chainline but as yo say, the axles could be too short...

Well, stylish then I guess. He's a tall skinny fella. Anyone know any good vintage shops that might have something?
Victory Vintage in Whiteleys
Beyond Retro - just need to get lucky with stock here

I used it to make a pad for my snowboard and it's still there, not sure how it would take to walking on though, worth a try!

This is just to confirm, pretty sure I've got my answer from searching but here goes.
If I swap the road axle on my rear specialised trispoke (for screw-on freewheel, it is NOT a freehub),
with the HED 3 front track axle,
I should be able to use the rear as a front wheel right? Also, is there anywhere cheaper than £30 for the axle from the HED website?
edit: the wheel

Yes that will work for you, got a slave build coming up, or something fast?
A cheaper option would be to respace it as a front and chop the current axle down, that way you could tap it to take an m6 (?) bolt and washers or just use a hex skewer.

Cheers fella! Might try and get the front axle rather than chopping just so there's the option to swap back.
And a bit of both tbh, might build up something slave in the coming year, but mainly for short, faster rides/TTs.
Mainly because they look like fun!
