I bought my step-father a Certina Blue Ribbon from the mid 60s a couple of years ago and have always had a soft spot for the Longines Conquest Heritage.
My certina is a genuine new old stock slim automatic from the 1990s I believe , I have never worn it myself , it just sits in my watch box . May even sell it , to pay for restoration of the speedmaster . And yes VanUden Longines are the mutts , and represent really good value for money against some " trendier " Swiss brands . Their column wheel chronograph is lovely as is all the master collection .
