Its mainly a wear issue. The tyre should'nt slip either way. They claim to be quieter, but a total slick is exactly the same in my experiance.
The thing about the wear is thats it produces a flat profile. So even when the tyres not worn out it can ride a bit shitter.
One other thing to consider is that with a turbo specific wheel. You can fit a turbo specific cassette. I have a 14-27 cassette on mine.
