• I've had my Vintage Aquatimer now for about a month. So thought I'd do a bit of a review just in case anyone is interested.

I love the feel of this watch. The size, the weight, the looks are all exactly what I wanted. This watch certainly looks and feels like a quality piece of engineering. The machining and finish of the case is incredible, with very pleasing contrast between the high polish of the back, lug tops and crowns with the brushed case and lug sides and the machined bezel. The large gently domed crystal is really something to behold! The feel of both crowns when using them is both solid and satisfying. The internal unidirectional bezel is fantastic. The face is beautiful. I really like the fact is has no Roman or Arabic numerals to mark the hours (who needs them?) The matte black face contrasting with the high polish hands and bevelled baton edges really catch the light to give it some bling. The lume with comfortably last all night.

In one calendar month it has gained 23 seconds. Less than one per day. Pretty good.
The original plasitcky rubber strap, although quality, wasn't particularly comfortable and so needed to be changed and although I initially I didn't like the Hirsch Aero strap I put on it, I have fiddled with the inserts and now it fits much better and I'm now really enjoying it. I now like the way it fits and it's stiffness where it joins the case and how it tapers off toward the buckle to be very supple. It seems to be very hardwearing and resistant to scuffs too. Very well made and comfortable indeed!

I really should thank VanUden again for brining both the watch and the strap to my attention. I had been looking for my perfect watch for a while. This is pretty much it.

And I really don't care what anyone's opinion on IWCs is, good or bad, to me IWC make absolutely superb watches and this one is awesome!

    Cheers.

    Nice review. Nicer watch.
