Mini vs :)
10 eye spy points for coventry eagle, it is indeed a Mini V. Works well and is much happier with the wider A319s than it was with the narrower open sports I was using before. Only issue is there isn't enough clearance for the mudguard so I had to cut it down.
That looks eerily like my old pompino!!
was it stripped of paint when you bought it?
No, it was a very ratty bathroom blue when I picked the frame up. Had it stripped and clearcoated last winter

You can of course use good ol' MTB V-brakes if you choose the appropriate levers.
Mine are Tektro RL520, but there are others.http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3711/9907423336_33c8f15db0_o.jpg

Turn the seat clamp the other way round as well
(sorry for being picky)

Figured I'd install it like that since the ST slit is on the front side. Just looked it up and found out the slit's on the front to equalise the pressure on the seatpost. Will do. Thanks.

I'm desperately trying to become a pomp owner been searching for one for a month. If anyone knows of a frame (med ideally) or bike knocking about. I have posted in the wanted thread but guessed there may be a more focused chance in this thread

^ Yeh watching that but as I have been offered a full bike for £200 (which fell through) and won one on ebay for £230 (with 2 sets of wheels) which never turned up I have been told by the boss I can spend no more than £250 on the full bike!

£110 for the parts might be doable if you get a new f+f. Do they still have £99 frames new?
-
• #2673
I have a carbon fork for it so just need the frame, they are £140 new now though (frame only), planning to use it for a spot of cross. I have a few bits to chuck at it (saddle bars tyres and fork) but that still leaves the pricier parts to find

I've got a dirty but true front track wheel you can have for 20 quid.

No they're back up in price.
You could always buy a frame and then keep and eye out for a good deal on a hybrid with 700c and vbrakes. Canabalise it then sell the residual parts. Also that way the pricing will be harder for your girlfriend to work out.
I've got a nature boy fork on my pompino (picked it up second hand on eBay for about £40) but I certainly wouldn't pay new money for one - not lighter or better handling than the stock fork, even though it does look better. If I was buying new forks I'd go carbon.
