Anything other than 90's Campag wouldn't be fair

I actually like the chips. Lots of good things made in italy are a bit flaky.

Yeah true, credit to antibard for that, very good of him.
Not sure really, quite tempted to go as modern as possible but quite like the look of that silver campagnolo group, the recent one. Might be a bit obvious though?

I still think deep purple and black is a winner though

• #83181
what is the rear spacing?
-
• #83182
130

I love a black modern groupset as much as the next guy.
But let me echo Andy's point - this with a nice silver gruppo will look positively stunning.

can you get 11 speed on 130 spacing?

can you get 11 speed on 130 spacing?
Yes - Campag 10/11speed hubs are 130mm
edit - ie all campag compatible road hubs will be 130mm (well - there might be the odd 135mm one out there, but 130 is what you would expect)
-
• #83187
ah ok, assumed there was a step up in spacing after 10 speed
-
• #83188
There is no new standard axle lengths with the introduction of 11 speed. Not for campagnolo nor shimano. Some 11speed hubs may have 131mm actual lenght ive heard but still fits and is designed for your 130mm spaced frame
Not all campy hubs are 130mm theres plenty of 126mm old hubs out there.

They make the chains thinner, the sprockets closer together, and the freehub a mm or two wider (moving the DS hub flange inwards).
Though I think with Campag there were some cases of frames not liking the chain position on the small sprocket. Not really sure though. But yeah, it's still 130 OLD.

Am I right in thinking the bottom bracket will unscrew counter-clockwise like normal on both sides? Never had a bike without English threads

• #83191
Yup.

If you are considering silver athena, consider this place:
https://www.bike-components.de/products/info/p32119_Athena-Komplettgruppe-11-fach-ohne-Naben-.html
I bought the very same group from Total Cycling 3 months ago and haven´t received the brake calipers yet. It is also cheaper. The only reason I didn´t buy from Bike Components is because I wanted 170mm cranks.

Advice please:
My seat post is at max extension but I need another few mm height.
I am using Look cleats, the grey ones with 4.5 degree float.
If I swap these for black ones with 0 degree float will they be flatter and give me more leg extension?
Any other ways to squeeze out some more height? The problem is that I quite like the seat post, don't mind changing for a higher saddle if needs be.*Thanks

Yes. But it depends what saddle you have now. I think Turbos are higher.
The best thing is to change your seatpost or use an inverse shim.

Of the best recent forum deals I've seen, well done. I personally quite like the chips, they add to it. Whats the build plan?
