I had to switch out cantis out for mini-v's on my Cross Check when I stuck a porteur rack on it. The mount for the rack interfered with the straddle and when I moved the straddle up to clear the mount the brakes ended up being super spongy.
I'm not convinced by the goldfinger levers either, never really found them comfortable or they gave enough stopping power, some proper flat-bar canti levers might not look a bit bulkier but I'm pretty sure they'd be cheaper and work better.
Looks like a good build though, should be pretty much perfect to try polo out on too...
