I really want a pair of the 20mm tubulars- how many spokes would be needed to keep my 76.6kg from breaking them? I'd be tempted to go 28R/24F. Thats probably the lower limit though.

You could also beef up the spokes. What's the difference in strength between something like cx-ray's and Alpine III's?
I guess you've also got to consider what the max tension you can get away with on whatever rims you're considering.
