I have a specific ride in mind. I'll be carrying a packable rain jacket. I think maybe a warmer base-layer than the merino mesh. Is the most versitile way to go.

I have a gore windproof T-shirt. Its an amazing item to have. But I dont like wearing it on long rides. Its simply too windproof.

I have a thick, soft, and nicely 'race fitted' soft shell for cold stuff. But once you have it on your screwed if it warms up.
