The verdict in this case is wrong, but it has had a huge profile. Some of the next cases like this (I mean, I'd hope there won't be any, but unfortunately there will be) will be handled differently. It may not be the very next one, but just the huge media attention, and the sense of injustice and/or revulsion felt by many, has already made a difference. Cold comfort, I know, but there is a push all around the country on this area of law.
