  • Another find in the bay. The owner calls it the small version of the well known " Easy Rider".
I havent proofed it up till now, but the frame itself looks interessting. Same colour like the "Big" brother but quite a strange structure of the tubes. Watch out for the Gios decal under the seat post, it looks timely correct.
    Wait and see.

  • ^ That looks like the ultimate '70s dream toy. Look at that joystick - you can play Atari Space Invaders while you ride!

  • Brooklyn replica jerseys with world championship bands available on FleaBay from Poland for £24 with free p&p. Looks ok to me, so maybe I'll get one and report back...

Hy Colin, havent found it, please let me know where...? Thanks a lot

  • ^Maybe Ebay listings are different in Germany. Seller ID is world-of-jersey and shop is PerfectCyclingWear, hope that helps. If it does, enjoy the other truly horrible jerseys he's selling!

Thanks for the help, I took a look and well.... especially the print of the brooklyn bridge on the chest looks a little clumsy, akward and fuzzy!
I add a picture to compare the design with "original" ones

  • Gios have a replica Brooklyn jersey
and Prendas carry the Santini manufactured Brooklyn replica jersey

The Santini ones look great! But to get the Gios "Brooklyn - Anniversary" Shirts, you'll have to go to italy. They have no Mail-Order or Dealers outside of Italy :(

  • Ring my Bell, Ring my Bell...Ding dong
Just found this piece on the bay

    and the original for comparison

Wow, what a smart replica! How could I get one or two of These Stickers?

  • How could I get one or two of These Stickers?

I could send you the file so you can get them printed or PM me with your postal address.

  • What are your thoughts on the modern Gios frames? I'm very tempted to buy a Gios V107 Carbon with a 10-speed Centaur Carbon group for just south of €600, but I can't find anything about them.

  • My bike and me will be on the "Stalen Ros" in Gent/Belgium on sunday for the Gios Anniversary fair! Anyone of you too? PM me if so!

  • ^It's all right for some, I'll be removing the decals from my wifes' car so that we can get rid of it.... Have a great time, hope it doesn't rain (much)!

Tijmen, they're branded Gios but made from a generic mould somewhere in the Far East so will probably be no better or worse than any other frame made in the same place (which means most frames). At least it will be a nice colour and sounds pretty good value if in good condition!

The Made in Italy sticker is just about assembly?

  • yes, or maybe painting

  • Re the wrongly positioned decals, I bought the frame from Holland and realised the decals were wrongly positioned as soon as I saw them.

Marco Gios confirmed it's a 1980 Torino Super Record, and as mentioned, one of the few chrome models still in one piece!

I bought various Bilt Hamber products to treat the frame for rust/corrosion internally and externally.

The LBS checked out the frame and confirmed that there is no internal corrosion, but there are 4-5 small rust spots externally, so I'll take no chances.

I am having a set of decals made in blue that will include the TT decal with cut out for the cable guide. The original Torino Super record decals with TT cut out are white, but I think blue will look better.

I haven't ridden downtube shifters since the 1980s, and I don't much fancy it until next years Eroica! In the meantime she'll wear and silver Campagnolo Athena 11 groupset with silver Ambrosio Excellence wheels.

This is what she looks like right now waiting for her treatment tomorrow and Wednesday!

What a Beauty! I hope that you'll find also an original "coin" fork for it untill L'Eroica.

  • Can be bought here:

Will share a proper pick of my pseudo-Gios when the storms over and I finally get to ride her. Had to wait for pedals.

all RT needs to acquire is the original Gios forks without the coins

  • The original forks are so hard to come by, especially in uncut size. The head tube on my frame is nigh on 200 mm long!

Another question. Head badges. I have two of the blue head bages that are self adhesive, and two of the white ones that require rivets.

Where can I get some rivets that will fit and leave clearance for the headtube?

I would be looking at scale model hobby supplies
    like these
then trim to size, or glue badge on and use the rivet glued in as decoration.
