In case you can't be bothered to read that, the main difference is that bb5 is one moving pad and a stationary pad (that you can adjust, but doesn't move when you pull the brake lever) while the bb7 is 2 moving pads that clamp together... Much much better.
(On the link someone says the pads on bb7 are bigger, I don't know if this is true out of the box, but I use the same pads for my bb7's and 5's)
Oh I should add that lots of people say it's not worth upgrading from bb5 to bb7, I think it is for polo, but my dad bike (as Ali called it) has bb5's and although I'd like to upgrade, I've not got round to it in the last year.
