this is my chain tool....doesn't have the cradle, but i normally adjust the link after connecting a chain..... impatience got the better of me. oh dear.
I bought one of those after stripping the main thread out of a little Park Tools chain tool while splitting a 1/8" KMC Z510.
When it arrived I was a bit peeved to notice that you couldn't loosen stiff links, but I reckon (and I'm not responsible if you trash your nice new chain tool) that if you take the sliding cradle off and turn it round so it's braced against the far side of the tool you can use it to loosen a stiff link.
