Anyone who has a Lezyne Macro Drive, be careful to read the instructions before you use it. Don't use it as a torch and only charge it with official Lezyne chargers.
There goes £40!
I had an issue with mine about 9 months ago and went directly to the UK distributor, Upgrade Bikes, and received excellent service.
I type this as I am struggling to get light out of my Superdrive or get it to charge after fully charging it last night - or so I thought. This does not change the fact I received excellent support.

A few hours of charging from a PC rather than a plug seem to have sorted my Super Drive out. Puzzling!

This is what £60 and some soldering got me. Granted they do need a battery pack to run but it's so small that it's cable tied under the seat. The wire then runs down the seat post and under the frame, alongside the brake cable, and is ready to be plugged in as and when needed. The lights themselves have the usual rubber band to mount, so pop on and off as easily as any other.

^I would seriously recommend a wide-angle lens* for one of those lights - gets rid of the hotspots and lights up everything more evenly.

Awesome, thanks !!

I would also seriously recommend that you angle those down a bit as that is likely to blind oncoming drivers. I don't know about you but the idea of a vehicle coming towards me at speed where the driver can't see properly doesn't fill me with joy.

Yep, basically. I found with my el cheapo lights (not magicshine) I had to leave the original lens in place otherwise the new one rattles around but that's the only slight issue.

Ah nothing a bit of Tigerseal wouldn't be able to fix i'm sure !
Normally are angled further down and one on flash, that was just to show the brightness. Looking forward to getting the wide angle lens on now though !

could someone please point me in the direction of a something that fits the following criteria?
1) rear light
2) rechargeable
3) clip into belt/bag -

That lens looks interesting.
If I get things to work, and perhaps buy a second battery unit. I'll have a 1000 Lm front, and a 4000 LM front (yeah, I'm not sure I believe those figures either). Might be nice to have the 1000 Lm lamp as a wide angle be seen/ road illuminator, and have the 4000 Lm as a focused beam for pitch black trail riding.

Moon Meteor is a pretty impressive light, even more so for those who work in the cycling industry, I'm liking the little LED showing different light mode and brightness.
Will report back after a couple months.
Please don't.
I run a Moon Meteor. Amazed at the quality for 40 quid. Glad to hear someone's making some cash out of it. Going to get the Shield rear as well.

If you're looking for a good way to mount your lights on your bike check out the mounts I have designed.
On sale in the thread below.

Starfish, and for anyone else who's interested. I've just taken delivery of my Serfas Thunderbolt. It's rear, rechargeable, and uses the same rubber straps as most other things. I've just tried it round my belt and it works great, the rubber bands have a small enough setting that this could be done.
This thing is BRIGHT !!!!!!!!!!! I'd highly recommend it, and annoyingly i've just found it nearly £10 cheaper than i paid ....

Right - the switch isn't very waterproof. Few drips if sweat rendered mine basically useless

Used my moon light set for the first time properly this week, absolutely amazing
The Moon comet looks awesome. Very tempted.
Serfas Thunderbolt. It's rear, rechargeable, and uses the same rubber straps as most other things.
Thanks for the tip AJ, sounds like it does fit the bill for me.
OK, so Serfas and Moon are the same brand. Presumably Serfas Thunderbolt are the same tech as Moon Comet?
Would be great as the UK version would be much easier to get replaced under warranty should that be an issue. Moon Comet is available in loads of places in the UK – at a price point that competes with ordinary nodder lights. And is quality an issue? Good reviews on Bike Radar and Road CC. But comment field on Bike Radar not so positive.
Looking further up this thread it seems MrLemon has got them. Availble for comment mate? And Rogan, which Moon lights have you got?
EDIT:
Very mixed reviews on Wiggle too. -
• #2772
It would seem they look very similar. The Serfas isn't as bulky though, and from the pictures it looks like you need a mount to fit the Moon...the Serfas one you just have the elastic straps.
Personally i like that you can just rubber band it on and off and the fact it looks a bit more sleek, but that's up to you.

Lights lights lights.
I've got loads of them but I'm still not happy.
I have a 10 mile each way commute through town and ride all year/ all weather on a variety of bikes.
Rear lights: I have a
Knog Blinder 4 which is OK (although run time is getting shorter and it has a tendency to pack up with little warning and takes an age to charge over USB) - handy as it is self attaching (no brackets required)
with a Fibre flare on my bag and
a Blackburn Flea as a backup.
Other reserve lights are a 5 LED Catlike thing which is bright but tends to switch on in your bag, a Edinburgh Revolution copy of the Catlike which is better as it has a cheaper more positive button and a cheapo Smart Lunar R1 which rocks - all of these require a bracket so means I can't swap bikes without a faff - so I use the Knog/ Flea most of the time.
Front lights are the problem:
I use one of these Owl eye USB lights as a helmet light and it's brilliant:
http://www.owleye.com.tw/product_detail.asp?product_id=9
But the HOPE Vision 1 which has been my main front light is just a bit too big and heavy for city commuting (I carry a spare battery pack too) and the** Lezyne Mini Drive **I use for my bike with a front rack is just a bit pony (dim and short run time with surprise cut outs - but it was free!). I've got an old **Edinburgh Revolution LED vision **thing like this which is OK I suppose:
and use a Flea as a backup. Will I be any better off buying:
a) Smart Lunar 35 for £23 - small, bright, long runtime - can you get spare brackets?
b) Stump up the extra cash for an Exposure Sirius at £69
c) Stop moaning and buy some spare rechargeable batteries for the Lezyne
Ed, why so?
