  • New build. Building a 'Sunday' bike. Haz Zipp 303 firecrests for it. Will probably go for Dura Ace group.

  • fancy pants.

I wish I had bought those 303's. Such a bargain.

  • I'm feeling quite smug about the parts list I have got so far for a modest outlay. Team Machine had 1.5k off RRP.

  • I love that frame!

  • Project camobike will be finally finished by tomorrow.

    These are being installed tomorrow

just in time for winter and loosing the bike on the country lanes

  • Leveled my bullhorns, switched to tt lever, and put some lovely velvety fizik bartape on mah pinarello (as advised above).

Also this arrived in the post - soon to have that headset attached.

  • Is it worth the extra cost to run Record over Chorus?

    ftfy, and no.

  • decisionsss....

I was planning on getting a 90mm nitto stem, but the cheap n cheerful 80mm Kalloy stem actually looks alright, i think? i don't know, Also i got some 75's for it and i need to choose a chainring, think either 47t or 48t velosolo chainring, or a 49t 75 chainring, also will get new wheels after, not sure if i should go for black rims or silver, silver spokes and hubs of course

    ...think it over.... over thinking

  • I think you should start again with black parts.

  • 80mm ...... looks alright

    nah

  • I think you should start again with black parts.

    so true

  • A little bit of me dies inside every time you show us "updates" on your Vivalo.

  • nice one, thought I'd seen something about it
    cheers

I think you should stop spending money, tape the bars with some nice bartape (black), get some clipless pedals and ride the shit out of this as it looks great..

    bit harsh

I am doing that already, i have some black taped bullhorns and spd's which i put on now n then.

whys every one being so negative

  • because 80mm stems and drops is fucking ugly. 110mm or NUFINK

  • because it looks great so why should you spent any money.
Stem doesn't bother me at all.

  • There isn't one part i got for this that i haven't used or put on another bike, i just had the stem laying around.

I want to use the wheels and cranks on another bike to

  • You think it may be harsh, but I see a bike that could be a million times better with the right care and attention. Instead it's just ok. Nothing more.

  • There isn't one part i got for this that i haven't used or put on another bike, i just had the stem laying around.

This is your problem. You treat this frame like all your other bikes.

Make it something special. You have quite a few bikes that share components, yes? Why not sell some stuff to fund a beauty makeover for Viv? Treat her.

  • Was kidding about black ...lolz

I think you should get a pearl 9 njs, a silver Zen, a proper seatpost (65/72/DA etc)

And save/sell for some nice wheels.

    And black tape.

Black archetypes/silver spokes/Paul or Phil or goldtec etc hubs...

  • If were putting in suggestions and you want to spent money I'll partially agree with TM, but with some Soma HW1's, just because they're far more comfortable than track drops.

  • The Resist Nomads are out and the Continental TourRide Reflex tyres are in. I'm going to totally winterise this bike, bigger better mudguards (suggestions welcome) and waterproof toe caps.
