Your own bike?
-
• #3228
Well, if you want to get all specific about it then yes it is my own bike.
What's your point?
-
• #3229
Well it belongs in this thread alright

• #3230
^^ Well, at least you didn't kick a baby.

Cannondale guy still hasnt had his bike stolen.
Luckiest man ever.
He even left his light on as well.

I've read almost every post in this topic and i cant get my head around how one can be so stupid to lock their bikes like that.. :D

I went for a job interview near the Shard and saw this beauty.
You can spot the tail end of my Pashley Pronto in the picture too.
Front wheel with QR is safe... Not the rest of the bike...
Two weeks on, I went for my second interview yesterday and that bike is still parked there, still badly locked:
This must be the safest street to park your bike in London!

Na - just the least desirable bike in London.

and cycle computer. It's like this every day and he has already had one bike stolen from outside work.

In the first one he's protected most of the wheel, in the second one clipping 4 or 5 spokes would give you everything.
-
• #3238
Surely if you wanted everything you'd clip all of the spokes except 4 or 5?
Talk me through how you'd do that? -
• #3239
First undo the QR and take all but the wheel, then the wheel is fixed by 4 or 5 spokes

Talk me through how you'd do that?Undo the front QR, lift the frame off. Clip the 5 or 6 spokes that the lock goes round and pull the front wheel away.
Edit: arse! Beaten to it.

Ah of course. Bad at puzzles. Did the Hint Hunt thing last night and was fully the weak link too.
And the difference with the first one is that you'd have to clip more (almost half) of the spokes?

some guy outside the office just locked his bike next to mine, which isn't a problem, the problem is, have some manners!I f you need to move my bike away from the stand so you can put your lock through, fair do, but put my bike back to how you found it, not have it hanging at an angle. Having a Cinelli mash with paul lever doesn't make you more superior than me. You are probably on this very forum, even better, coz I am taking about and to you. And by the way, you have a good lock, lock it through the frame and wheel, not just the flipping top tube and patch a cable through the wheels. And by the way, have some foot retention, will you? Shall I get you a bunch of rubber bands from the office?
Raining days send me into a bad mood...

I hate this shit. I see it all the time outside my office.

I will write up a note and if his bike is still there when I leave this afternoon, I shall stick it on there. I know it could be difficult at times to put a lock through the stand if the bike on the other side has a short lock, but that doesn't excuse this. I was tempted to push his bike out to see how he'd like it, but nah, I have manners.

Not seen this technique before. Locking your bike up near a bike rack
-
• #3246
Ammacos, rusty chains, apollos, etc. . . .
Also flat pedals are the best on commuters.

Are you on drugs?

this chap went through a lengthy routine to lock his bike. Turns out its better if you lock it to something though
