  • I agree with most of your points, but imo there is a definite theme on the colour of the parts - the bits which you can get in silver are silver. The finishing kit, hubs, spokes, etc. all tie together. Just having two black components doesn't ruin it.

    +1. I'm not massively keen on that *particular *crank but from an aesthetic point of view generally, I'd only be trying to go all matchy silver if it's a genuine period build. With modern parts on a steel bike, I'm happy to mix up carbon, alu, steel if that means mixing up black, grey and silver. Even for a predominantly black build, I'd rather have silver spokes and hubs cos I think black wheels look heavy.
