The history of dumb inventions is littered with examples of 4-limb cycle propulsion, all created by people who forgot to do their homework re. limiting factors in human powered vehicles. Since the limit is metabolic, and that limit can be exploited by either legs or arms, splitting it between both just adds mechanical losses without making any extra power available. Since I don't click on DM links, can somebody tell me whether this particular invention causes or prevents cancer?
Ahem
A recent study by the New Mexico State University found that although the same heart rate is achieved when arm cranks are added to a bicycle, like those on the Varibike, pictured, an arm- and leg-powered drive gives a cyclist 31 per cent more power..

can't figure out how to imbed so just click the video... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2409700/Varibike-Cyclist-creates-bicycle-pedalled-feet-HANDS.html
Steering must be quite terrifying.
