V glad I didn't lose my nerve (and also v glad I brought gears - rolling? Pah!)
As well as a lovely little roll round the countryside and a couple of very nice pints I have also learned that saying 'Jamie Lee Curtis in Trading Places' is an incredibly powerful weapon of distraction (at least on men over 30). I do not know why - and am not going to try and find out on a work computer - but I think this might prove to be useful knowledge - especially if I want to branch out into bike jacking at any point.
