  • Ha, repped^

  • I thought I did when I bellowed 'stop dicking about' as we crossed the finish line two laps earlier. Maybe they didn't hear me.

I've vented my spleen. No going to say anymore on this other than hoping everyone who got hurt will be back on their bikes soon.

  • I definitely agree there are too many novice mistakes happening in TL. Some racers seem to care more about glory than group safety. Alot of people that have been inducted this year are showing up for very advanced sessions, which is irresponsible and difficult for volunteers to moderate. There should definitely be more steps involved between inductions and racing...

The fact that riders who have been doing track for a few sessions are pulling into TL is clearly a self moderating failure in the 1st place. Im sorry to say, but this over-confidence has a role to play in how riders are overshooting categories, showing up for advanced sessions they are not ready for, and riding too aggressively for their own experience level. I couldn't believe it when some newly inducted's were bragging about their bike handling skills afterwards, and how they managed to stay upright over other riders! How do you give riders like that constructive feedback if they already think they have all the answers and are the next big thing? So unless I missed some bunny hopping madness over bikes and bodies while I was eating tarmac, some very experienced riders, that have been racing longer than I have even been going to track, went down in the crash! The safest place in this one was towards the back of the race, which is where it usually spreads(from what I have unfortunately seen before)? If you went down its not because you don't have good bike handling skills, it means there was nowhere to go, or you were right where the unfortunate action was. If you stayed up then you were lucky, so consider those that weren't...

So on that note is there any news from any more of the riders that went down? Fixed Cheese, Im glad you ok :)
I hope this has not put those riders off, and that they come back next year when they are healed and a new system is in place :)

  • Well, I have a black leg and arse (imagine a giant tattoo of Africa) and two vertebrae that are now 2mm out. I've been terrorising colleagues and friends with photographs and the occasional live show! No more league for me this season. TBH, after 6 weeks I should be ok. I just hope everyone is on the mend and will be back next year.

I have a friend who is going to be my PT over the winter and I have a lot of training planned. I hope to be fitter than ever come next season and to be more competitive in the Bs. This year I rode in the Bs, then Cs which is when I started winning stuff.

I'll probably finish up 65th or something out of 200(?) which I'm happy with, as my only hope this year was to compete in club colours, which I'm proud to say was Grupetto.

  • Bust metatarsal in my RH, and sprained also which is more painful. Bashed and bruised all down the left side. OK in the scheme of things.

  • compete in club colours, which I'm proud to say was Grupetto.

Do you to know what happened to results from Grupetto Open Meeting?

  • Admin problem with bc - think its all been submitted now

  • Thanks Dan.

  • Dimi - we're trying to work out why they haven't assigned your points to you.

[The BC submission system is all over the shop]

    CS Grupetto Open Track Meet

That's great, but my surname isn't Demishen, I do have BC licence and I want my points, please.

  • well you'd better PM me your surname then hadn't you - we can only put down what you or your teammate scrawled on the entry form

  • Ask nicely...

  • dommyracer came on the rolla forum and asked for you BC number, gave it to him and your correct name. sure grupetto are on the case.

  • Thanks all, pm'd now.

  • Looks like rain tonight..

  • Looks like rain for the next few months.

  • Ha

  • So...I've taken stock of the damage to my bike after last weeks crash:
Bent frame, bent cranks, bent chaining, bent saddle, cracked helmet, headset now feeling gritty and tight in some places.
My steed is a tank, so the damage is pretty impressive!

If anyone is selling any of these things at a reasonable price please PM me. You would be brightening my week :)

  • How "bent" is your saddle?? I've got an extremely well worn but functional Planet X team saddle I'm willing to donate for nowt, unless/until you're holding out for something better.

Sorry to hear about the crash, sounds messy all round. I've been riding at HH on and off for years without any incident and would probably be doing track league if running wasn't taking priority.

  • Bent frame, bent cranks, bent chaining, bent saddle, cracked helmet

    Blimey.

I'm actually really looking forward to spectating tonight, and to watch the DC6 whilst scoffing frites and beers!

  • Ah sweet - are you going to be there on Sunday Nath? Me too.

I feel like I got off lightly with broken saddle, helmet, scratched up frame and broken rim. Sorted out my bike last night so it's ready to race tonight - but not really sure if I am yet.

  • Anyone heading down? Looks a bit.... wet.

  • Nice photos from tonight.

LFGSS members were conspicuous by the absence in the track stand competition top results. For shame, what kind of hispters are you?!

  • Did consider coming down to see if my best one handed track stand could pick me up some points, but looks like I saved myself the embarrassment judging by the photos. Anyone get down to a one legged track stand?
