I, so far, have been happy drinking only pour overs at home and leaving the espresso to shops with their 15k synessos/slayers/etc. Over the years, though, I have gotten more and more interested in the things involved in making a good cup of espresso so I went and did the inevitable and ebayed myself a Caravel (60s era italian lever machine a la https://farm3.static.flickr.com/2687/4469576890_c18b05e8dd.jpg) I anxiously await its arrival from italy.
The rationale is, to paraphrase someone on a different forum, "with all of my scales and v60s, and grinders, there is no way my wife could think I am any more of a nerd than she already does." Also, the more that I can do to keep myself from home roasting the better it probably is for both of us and for our relationship.
At any rate, my question: does anybody know where seals*/tampers**/etc for such old machines can be purchased over here in the europes? Is there an eu version of http://www.orphanespresso.com/ ?
*I don't know for sure yet that it needs them, but I think the chances are pretty good.
** They have an odd sized filter basket so require an odd size tamper(43.5mm) so that is what I am searching for.
