Are there any guard options that pivot up so that when I have to wheel my bike on just the back wheel to get it in and out of the slalom course we call a bike shed the guard pivots out of the way but then when in use it gives full cover on the rear wheel?
Likewise the front, I want it long to protect my feet but the racking is the kind where you drop your front wheel in and a long guard gets fucked up.
PS. the shed and racks are communal so I cannot alter these. There is not enough romm to walk beside the bike when putting it in and out of the shed. I lock at the back of the shed because the last time they were cleared out the thieves got halfway down and didn't touch any bikes, even the unlocked ones, at the back. I don't mind unclipping something but don't want to fuck about with tools or realigning things.
I have considered cutting up an SKS and trying to hinge it with maybe a sliding metal retaining bracket on the outside but my engineering skills are second to my desire to support people who have already developed the right product for me.
