Some of the guys have been racing on the pista CS elites (they're new and not to be confused with the EVO CS which are very light and really for the wood). I've just fitted a pair on my wheels and they look much better made than the standard CS (which I never liked due to their propensity to go hard and slippery indoors and the way the base tape always seems to come away at the edges).
They're nice and light but with protection for riding outdoors.
I really like the CS elites, probably the nicest tubs I've used.
Nearly twice the price of the CS though.
This is something to think about - they really are double the price and Wednesdays crash has already cost me quite a lot of money (new helmet, new carbon rim from PX, new saddle etc etc) - so cost is a limiting factor at present.
I never felt that the standard CS's were lacking in grip or supple-ness and compare pretty well to the Open Corsa Evo's I was running on my clinchers at the track. Perhaps I should just stick with them?
