Not sure if this was meant sarcastically or not, but I really do think that Seedrs work for their cash.
They do all of the SEIS checks for you, they run the website and the mixers, and all of the other background checks and other work to make this happen.
Because Microcosm has gone so fast both times, I don't think that we see all of the support that they offer, Not having been to one of the mixers yet (I do intent to get to one at some point) I strongly suspect that they are a true key for those firms that have to take more time, and do more work to persuade people to sign up than David or Matt have done (not suggesting that David and Matt haven't done this work, just other people don't have the sizeable pool of people to tap, which must make it harder).
I'm also fairly sure that anything you get back from the taxman re SEIS doesn't count towards you making profit on your investment, so you've that to count against the 7.5% they (quite rightly) get off of our profits too...
