He wasn't a high earner. Was still on the same original contract.
I think he saw he'd been benched at the weekend.
Saw Di Maria, Coentrao, Ronaldo, Isco and now Bale were going to be about and obviously wasn't assured by the club hierachy that he was wanted/would be playing. In a world cup year thats massive.
