  • That lens sounds tasty.

  • Yeah, very tempted by an xpro1 and the 23mm. It's a lot of money for a bit more light though... Apparently x100 update will be a few days

  • been waiting for that lens to come along

  • Some recent ones. I'm really falling for the black and white that comes from my 5d mk1. 'Death of SLR' my arse.

  • Aldeburgh yesterday.

Really like that, nice editing especially

  • Also been playing with digital B&W:

  • Also trying for the Dan Winters type of look:

Is that straight out of the can?

  • Sanddancer what frame are you using on those? They look like negative scans.

  • I think it's 'frame 1' from Silver Efex.

I hate fake frames, but for some reason can't stop myself putting them on all my pictures lately.

  • ^ yeah - lose the frames

good shots otherwise! The first one in particular

  • I think they look good sometimes. Just don't over do it!

Might have to check silver efex out.

  • Couple from a recent break.

  • lose the frames

    +1

  • For the thousandth time in this thread, what do people use when they want a pouch to bung in a normal bag? Domke inserts?

  • What size camera? I use a lowepro zoom bag with the strap removed to bung in a rucksack.

  • I use good old fashioned bubble wrap and a t-shirt... probably a bad idea... but I never had expensive cameras... wait... I do now... shit, so yes. what do people use??

  • I've found neoprene on eBay where one side is the fluffy part of velcro, so I'm planning to buy some + the other side of velcro and stitch on the corners, would make for a flexible wrap thing that would close on itself.

Did any of that make sense?

  • I guess these work, but I always hated those things. It's fiddly if you have more of them, for other stuff you need as well, and they don't protect against cookie crumbles.

I use a smaller or larger real (padded) camera bag, depending on how much lenses and stuff I want to bring along,
and just put this in the rucksack, usually on top.
You may lose a bit of space, but I find it's really good to have a camera bag with you anyway that you'll have around your shoulder when actually shooting or on 'standby'.

  • I use the same thing albeit a Domke so probably paid for the brand name. Very versatile, especially if you have different camera bodies of different shape.

  • +1 for a t-shirt. My first lens (Nikon f2.8 35-70) I used to keep a sock. Cameras are pretty durable. Anything vaguely padded will be fine.

  • True for higher end dslr's, wouldn't say the same for smaller cameras. My gx1 didn't feel as rock solid as my 5d. The xe-1 is better, but still not on par.

  • +1 for a t-shirt (...) Cameras are pretty durable.

That's basically like saying "coitus interruptus is a reliable way of contraception".
