Slovenia. great country. were in the central national park, 1 big lake to cycle round on mtb trails. lots of fire trail rides, but no roads to tops. so firetrailstook us from 500 - 1000 m above sea level. almost altitude (but not quite)
still great country and unregulated , there were people riding/ swimming/ kayaking wherevr they wanted. That. was the best bit about the place.
