Also, what bars?

merlin? they are doing a deal on groupset and wheels for £850 I think.
I want one too for a very similar project (same frame). Cheapest are/were Ribble but they are out of stock atm.
I am contemplating between 6800 OR 105 + Rotor 3D. -

shit me thats incredible

I dont think so, these are compact/sloping tube frames. I am looking to buy one atm and the one that will fit me (and have respectable length stem) is 50cm with 52.5 effective TT. With the sloping TT and 50cm seat tube I am guessing the seatpost will show more than usual.

it has a lot of post and zdrenka has all his bikes looking like that

yeah, short TT (for my size), no setback and a fair amount of drop is my cup of tea.

I dont know, even Erik's bike is showing more seatpost than usual. Which I think is fine for a compact/sloping TT geo.
I am just doing ground work for when I post a photo with that much seatpost :P

Did you use caustic soda for this? What concentration, how long etc? CHeers
About 250 grams in 1 litre of water, stronger would froth up and spill too much. I tried to change it a few times a day but didn't have a chance always, it took 4 or 5 days in the end.
Temporary tyres, want to change the headset for DA, and I'll put risers on soon enough, but finally it lives:

Its not really more seatpost than usual if you draw a horizontal line from the top of the headtube back to the seatpost it should end up at a point pretty much centered vertically between tyre and saddle rails. Wich helps proportion

Who has these hubs? Any experience? Need WW hubs on budget
Bumping your question as I'm interested as well...
I want to have a go at building a wheelset for the Roberts at some point. I have a pair of NOS silver DP18 (the late 1990s ones with braking surface, not the earlier super sweet shiny ones). 36 holes, shimano cassette compatible (7-8 speed).Price wise these Miche are in my budget. Are they OK / likely to last? (36 spokes for a road bike, obviously I want bullet proof stuff). Any other alternatives? Is novatec better?
-
• #82022
Those Miche look very Novatec, I'd have thought they'd be fine but you might be able to find them cheaper elsewhere?

New Chirvelo R5ch done.
Nicely done. Smart choices.
How does the frame ride?
-
• #82024
Damn right those are Novatec. I roll them on my Reynolds Attack wheelset (Actually just the front wheel as I broke my rear rim, but I have ridden the rear hub as well) and they do a great job. VERY smooth and easy to clean. The read one makes quite some noise though. I didnt mind but I've read some people write that it annoys them

Super Record brakes are pretty. Nice bike.
Where'd you get 6800?
