I got an email from foffa bikes the other day. Absolutely no idea how they 'obtained' my email address.

Crazy prices... -

I hope you are not suggesting that they are massively overpriced pieces of shit.

I wouldn't ever suggest a thing like that no!

Hi I've got a old pug fixed gear but want to build a much nicer singlespeed and been looking at the foffa prima frameset. I wanna do it in dark green and as they already come in that colour thought it might be a good frame to build on? Anyone have any experience with them? Do you think I could get a better frame and have it powder coated for less than £239 they charge?

That money will get you a lot better than a Foffa.
Invoking the name on the forum will likely see you flamed.
Look in the classifieds. -

just powdercoat your plug - the foffa frame won't really be any better
otherwise, dolan pre-cursa

£240 is alot of money in the second hand frame market, with a bit of reading around here and a bit of patience with the classifieds or ebay you could get yourself something pretty special for that.
For example I got a hand built Reynolds 853 frame and forks for less than £240.

This.
If it must be that specific colour and you're happy to powdercoat it, you can definitely get a better frame than the Foffa second-hand.

For £140 you could get an On-One Macinato. There is no reason to believe it's either better or worse than a Foffa Prima, but it will attract less ridicule.
The others are right though, £200 should be enough to get a tidy second hand British built 531 track frame, as long as it's not from a builder attracting unwarranted levels of hipster tax.

A tidy second-hand frame it is* then...

ahh thought you meant a charge plug, not a peugeot.
second the on-one macinato idea, seems pretty good for the money

I've got a Macinato. I like it. It's nothing special - just a welded CroMo frame - but I always enjoy riding it.
