...rode my road bike for the first time in a year, I only went to the co-op and back, but it felt a lot more difficult than riding fixed. I figure the freewheel amounts to a loss of momentum in the drivetrain - riding fixed your legs are kind of 'pushed' over the dead-zone if you relax a little, whereas with a regular transmission you have to do all the work, so rather ironically, not being able to freewheel works out being less tiring. Anybody else felt this, or am I thinking too much into it?
