Sorry if I made it confusing, but I didn't claim these were military watches
ZIM is the name of the factory that manufactured these watches. ZIM was famous for producing all sorts of things in the Soviet days - mainly ammunition and radios during WW2, then watches and household machinery in more peaceful times
This is definitely civilian type watches
