When I got mine build, the framebuilder don't have a jig, but use my current bike to see how I fit and made some change on that (as well as taking my measurement).

Bought a used Roberts a couple weeks back.

Finally got the bb out. Came with an odd mix of campag and shimano bits.
The frame's got columbus tubing and shimano drops with mudguard eyelets.
Hopefully should get it built up soon...

Can't put up new posts yet, just wanted to let every-one know there is a 1970's Roberts road bike currently for sale on pre-loved. Complete original bike (56 I think) in good condition reduced from £300 to £200. To big for me but looks good!

I used to own this, until it got stolen a couple months back outside Swiss Cottage library in North London.

The spec on the bike is quite different to that in the photo:
black chris king headset
black coda stem with ritchey handlebars
white fizik saddle
black pannier rack

I know this isn't technically the right page to post it on, but its already been posted in 'stolen bikes', and I figured I might as well put it out to you roberts aficionados.

Hi there. I'm new to the site having stumbled across it looking for anything single/fixed and/or 'retro' - but Roberts, too? I've clearly landed on my feet...

By way of introduction, here's my own addition to the RCHBOC. It's a '96 Master Pro with a full Chorus groupset from the same year (all except the seatpost which is a cheapo), CXP30 rims, 3ttt bars and stem and Flite saddle. It was built for me and still fits like a glove seventeen years on. A truly wonderful bike/work of art.

I'm after one of their track frames now as the fixed way of doing things has bitten me and I'm loving all of that near silent simplicity...

Beautiful - love those older decals. Any idea when they phased them out? I remember walking past their workshop on numerous occasions when it was somewhere in Penge(?) and seeing the colour charts and frames hanging up with the same style. Ahh, fond memories...

After a few years with a Specialized Moutain Bike, I have decided to get my old beast on the road :)

Built in the early 80's when I was a nipper.
A Roberts Frame with Chrome Forks - Road Frame I believe.
I rubbed it down many years ago and lost all the decals during that time.

This time, I wish to get the decals back into pristine condition.
(seen some of the rebuilds here has inspired me)

As I am a new member, I cannot post pics at present, I will do that at a later date.

Any help on the origin of this frame would be appreciated.

I am not sure on the Tubing, pretty sure its 531DB

Not from ebay, but judging by the one that just listed, if that is any indication of the market for these I have done pretty well. This is an Aduax Compact, built at the end of last year from 853 Pro Team.

Came with a CK headset

Nice seat cluster, with a pump peg

One careful owner, it's only covered < 1,500 miles, so the paint is almost new, in a nice colourway.

It has clearances and brazings for full guards, and will build up into something nice I am sure.

That green one is what I was thinking about relative to what I paid for mine. I was contemplating having something built, but this came up in my size, and the savings are enough for a groupset and maybe some wheels, depending on what I go for. The only thing I would have done differently is gotten traditional instead of compact geo, but I can easily live with this.

Heading to New York and Houston for a week of work so this is going nowhere. I have saddle and a Ti seatpost. Need everything else.

The green one is nice, but no one is going to kick off bidding for it at £650. Roberts frames come up all the time with, erm, aspirational prices on them because a new one costs £1100 or whatever, but nobody buys them. I paid £90 for my 2004 Audax Compact frame on eBay.

The price seemed pretty aspirational, especially for a 30-year-old frame. Radar I was looking at your build thread when contemplating picking up the blue one.

What's the size of this beauty? Some really nice details on that frame!
