Mine has become my default "it's raining" bike due to the effectiveness of the mudguards and brakes. It's also extremely good in the snow.
I have done 10-15 miles on it a few times, but I wouldn't like to every day as the smaller wheels mean you work harder (less gyroscopic effect, less momentum). More usually it's under 4 miles, for which it's fine.
It's great for taking to places on the train and riding out into the countryside. I've taken mine to Shropshire and Lincolnshire.
