I was thinking it was interesting that he chose the Tarmac over the Venge. It seems that TM doesn't buy into the Specialized marketing department BS but then its more aimed at Mamils than pros who know what they're doing. Martin was amazing!

He was in the aero helmet though.

That bike really didn't look like it fits himmost pros to me are looking like they ride bikes at least one size too small, compensating with a huge stem and seat post

This. Moar stiffness in the smaller frames, then you just HTFU

Der Panzerwagon neutralised by the Swiss time machine. Gutted.

You hear this a lot, but the way I see it, if a smaller frame with a long seat post and stem has the rider's arse, hands and feet in the right place and leads to them being faster whilst still allowing enough comfort that that can complete each stage and the entire race, then surely the 'too small' frame is the correct one and the one that convention would have them on is simply too big and fitted with too short a seat post and stem.

That bike really didn't look like it fits himI'm guessing it was set up to mimic his TT position as much as possible.
Plus - this whole "pro's bike don't fit them" thing... please, enough. Not only do they spend billions of hours a year on them riding faster than we ever will, but they are also surrounded by other people who know what they are doing. I think we can assume that there is a reason, and if there isn't - I don't think anyone here is in a position to call it into question.

Roche for the win today...*
*Tries to keep a straight face
He might not have won the stage, but he will be in the leader's jersey I think.

Is there a bonus scheme thing going? In any event tolerable ride by Roche...* Wouldn't count him out just yet.**

Indeed... Still no excuse for not taking stage ;)

The number of hours spent riding these frames is a good point. If they were to small wouldn't the entire peleton be out with stress overuse injuries come GT season?

Said jokingly, still no excuse for not taking i.e. winning the stage... My bad.
