I use mine for a 2 mile commute, but I go there and back twice a day, so 8 miles/day.
Although we do have bike racks outside the office, being able to park the bike under the desk is so much more reassuring.
Also, it's astonishing how quickly, and smoothly, a bike with full mudguards can be packed down into a package so small and portable, and that is what really won me over with the Brompton.
If I were to get a second, though, I'd think twice about the SA hub... For my commute, singlespeed would be more than ample.
