Oak is a bit more expensive but is painted and made locally. Not sure where I stand on alu vs steel and one being better than the other. Going to try and ride a max power and a few oaks over the next few weeks before committing.
I think it was a couple of frames coming straight from Marino that I remember having sone small issues. I'm sure the vast majority are totally fine. I'm writing all of this at work on the sly, didn't mean to suggest that Marino/hija frames weren't up to scratch.
