  • Going back to allowing children to join, if you do then I imagine it opens up a big CRB check shaped can of worms. Which is often more hassle than it's worth. My badminton club doesn't allow children for that reason.

    It might be worth checking whether 16+ counts as working with children. Because if it does then potentially any volunteer for any event allowing children would have to be CRB checked specifically for LFGSS CC.

    BC class children as anyone under 18.

    There isn't a way around this, under-18s would be encouraged to join clubs that have CRB checks and are more organised to support and safeguard them.

    What I don't want is to suddenly impose upon all event organisers or volunteers a burden that might deter them from helping out.

    The idea behind the club is to get more people trying stuff out, and using facilities, not to put obstacles in the way of that.

    It's not ideal, but that's the game.
