Going back to allowing children to join, if you do then I imagine it opens up a big CRB check shaped can of worms. Which is often more hassle than it's worth. My badminton club doesn't allow children for that reason.
It might be worth checking whether 16+ counts as working with children. Because if it does then potentially any volunteer for any event allowing children would have to be CRB checked specifically for LFGSS CC.
