Any team that spends in excess of £95m on players and lets go of £23m worth of players (not including Bale here) will need to qualify for the CL or else they'll fall foul of FFP.
My best guess is that their wage bill will have gone up drastically. Can't see that letting go of the likes of Gallas, Dempsey, Huddlestone, Parker and Bentley would make the difference in that department.
Overall I am too very impressed with the way Spurs have handled the transfer window.
Letting go of a lot of deadwood and replacing them with younger, hungrier players. Making key signings whilst only losing one key player.
The only smidge on all transfer dealings is missing out on Willian to Chelsea, outfoxed by a more powerful club, perhaps that is down to experience.
