I'm kind of not judging this transfer window against what arsenal are doing/not doing. It feels like we have strengthened throughout the spine of the team, created competition for places across midfield and attack, and made sure there's less of a drop off between those who might be considered guaranteed starters and those on the subs bench, mean squad rotation is a guarantee, as well as being able to put out strong teams in all competitions, so another run at the Europa and hopefully a better run in the FA cup.
If we get Eriksen, we would have turned one player into seven, and I'm wondering whether knowing Bale could possibly go was the spur for Levy to get in Baldini so that the money could be spent wisely...
Despite the strengthening I'm still perturbed by those who have now automatically put us into the champions league places, no point in winning the transfer window (if such a thing is possible) and then the team and players not performing. I'll be more confident of champions league football depending on how we're playing and what the injury situation is saying post Christmas...
