I keep debating whether to get an Edge 500 or not. Perhaps someone can help push me either way.
I'm mostly getting it for speed and cadence but I also like the idea of the simple breadcrumb line for following courses and I like that it has barometric altitude sensors as well as GPS but I just don't see the point in a device that's using ANT+ when Bluetooth 4.0 is poised to usurp it. And before you all pounce on me I know Garmin is the standard and I really don't want to attach a phone to my stem but I can't help thinking Garmin's going to go the way of RIM and Edge the way of the Blackberry in the next year or two once this new generation of wearable devices hits the market and raises the bar once again on what's doable with technology.
Any thoughts or should I stop being tight and hand over the 200 notes that the kit I want is going to cost?
