Just bought some very nice tune MTB skewers thinking theyd be a little more heavy duty than road ones but they seem to be too long for my hubs. I know that the rear hub is obviously the wrong spacing but I was under the impression that most MTB hubs were 100mm like road hubs. Can anyone confirm/deny this? Would it be safe to trim off the excess skewer?
