People poke fun at Ed, and he rises to the bait, and plays up to a charicature of himself as a kind of defence mechanism, I think. It's a vicious circle. I've never met him but he seems harmless if slightly obsessive and short sighted at times, traits which I relate to in my own online behaviour.
