I tried to get some sleep last night but its hard to sleep when you're on a ward full of babies all waking up at different times. Hopefully we can be discharged today and I can get some sleep in a bed with only my own kid to wake me up.

So what players outside the PL should we be looking out for this year? The less know the better. So don't bother with Henrikh Mkhitaryan or Papadopoulos as most of us are already aware of them.
I'm going with Shadrach Eghan, Tecatito Corona and Zakaria Bakkali in the Eredivisie and Haris Seferovic and Léo Baptistão to be the next big things in la Liga and Andre Hoffmann has the potential to do big things in the bundesliga providing BMG finally gel again.

@villan
That's one of the things I think some fans are missing in the delight/fear/anticipation that is coming with being linked to and actually buying some world class talent. But world class British talent is hard to come by and when it is available costs over the odds.
We come back to the nugget of having a good youth team set up, and whether it is worth it or not. All fans would love their team to be filled with youth team products, local boys doing the club proud. So would I, we haven't produced a consistent first team performer since ledley king, but I'm more confident in the club as a whole at least making the effort to bring through young players and if they do show potential actually giving them a chance in the first team.
We're at a turning point and these opportunities need to be grasped otherwise the window disappears. And name me a British/English player that has the qualities and of Willian or lamela, who is close to the finished article apart from bale, who wants away..

PSV (Bakkali et al) definitely looked exciting but it didn't really happen for them last night? I don't know who played, but not the ideal start if they have serious CL ambitions.

Nerged for clearly making up the names of players.

Agree with you on Bakkali, also Elvis Manu.
Think Aubyemang will have a big season at BVB along with Leitner, Heung-min, Bittencourt in Bundesliga
Immobile, Pogba, De Sciglio, Felipe Anderson and Insigne in Italy
Koke, Inigo Martinez, Jese, Jairo, in Spain
Fred, Bernard and Ferreya to shine for Shakhtar

Transfer savy aka dedicated DIRECTORS of FOOTBALL. It's no coincidence they've got their dealings done quick, firm with little low balling and all have avoided the 'derisory/rejected out of hand' tags this window, too. The latter have had mostly disappointments and names besmirched.
Worst is after failing to land Martinez FSG dropped their plans for a DoF. This now means all their eggs are in the same Roger's basket. Seems daft given they admitted not really knowing anything about football. Oh well. Here's to Spurs knocking ManU off the top
sinks loney can of Super T's in the park
Their work makes a mockery of Wengers excuses and the overall you need CL to make good signings.
you're aware that LFC have a transfer committee in place rather than a DoF, this had BR's input but not complete say

Getting sleep on a maternity ward is not possible
-
• #86492
I thought you were the father? Maternity wards are, as the name suggests, for mothers. Fathers stay at home and get some decent kip after the pub or the footy.
Congrats though.

That would be the easy option. Major congrat's and prop's to Roboto for toughing it out with the fam. Doesn't sound like Roboto Jnr's entry to the world was entirely straightforward so can understand you stopping in and hope all is well. My first showed up 5 weeks early, although all was good. I went home to bed and savoured the last few nights of peace. #copout

René Meulensteen on Willian
I've worked with him for a short time but I really, really like him. He will be an asset for whoever's going to get him. If it's Spurs that's going to get him they'll get an excellent player. He's very versatile, he can play in different positions, he's a very creative player and an excellent professional with a very good personality. He's going to be a major trump card for Spurs if they can get the deal to go through. He can beat a player, he can score a goal. I thought he was an absolute delight to work with.
Let's hope that ink dries today.

You didn't trust mine or Jaw's judgement?! :)
Elmander has gone to Norwich.
I think that's another good signing for them, brings some Prem and international experience to their front line.
Been impressed with Hughton and Ponchettino's transfers targets. -
• #86497
Agree with you on Elmander, fantastic signing for Norwich. Based on last season's results and the signings both Norwich and Southampton have made you'd expect them to be challenging for a top 10 finish. Fulham and Villa look more balanced as well which makes midtable very, very crowded. Teams like Newcastle and WHU should be worried as you wouldn't want to get sucked into the relegation battle.

Loin - good shout on Jairo, completely forget that he's back at Sevilla. Unai Emery is a coach that does like using youngsters so he should see a decent amount of game time.
Not so sure if Jesé will get much at Real though.Forgot about Bernard going to Shakhtar (hangs head in shame). Missed the Ferreyra transfer completely. He had a ridiculous record in Argentina for his age.
