If that was in London I'd be very tempted, looks lovely. The ZXR flew threw the mot other than an advisory front wheel bearing. So what happened to this indian summer and the 2nd heat wave eh?!

Anyone want a 1996 JDM NC29 CBR400RR Babyblade?
Dad wants rid since my mum is adamant she will have a nervous breakdown if I ride it.
A mere 28000 km, still limited to 112mph, a few cosmetic marks but it's sound.
No tax or test as it's been in the garage undercover, but it flew through last time.
£1500 ono

The style is what's the mess!

Got the Domi running at the weekend, with all the repaired plastics back in place plus new (secondhand off eBay) fuel tap fitted and new fuel line.
Think it was a blocked tank breather, good run from Peckham to Victoria but haven't had a chance to go further to see if it really is totally fixed now!

I saw a kid the other day on a bobber version of that Gilera DNA thing (the one that is a twist and go that looks like a scaled down sportsbike.
It was quite nicely done for what it was, but to borrow a phrase from the Americans, it looked like he was fucking a football. -

Anybody know what the rpm should be for a Honda NX650 at tick-over? Have been scouring the net but can't find anything definitive. Ta.

?
Rider (only, coz there's no space for a pillion) is going to get soaked
in the wetif the road is even moist, it won't pass an MOT on several counts, at least a few of them structural ie not easily/quickly remedied on MOT day and above all it looks like a god damn surprised frog,Do not want.

1250? There may not be a definitive answer outside a workshop manual. Is it running ok otherwise?

Yep, running fine but tick-over is currently about 1700 / 1800. I'll tweak it down to 1400 / 1500 and see how it likes it.
It does have an occasional tendency to stall at lights when cold but starts again on the button. Hence a slightly higher tick-over, if I drop it and it makes no difference I'll just keep it to this. Cheers.

I would warm it up and see how low you can set the revs without it stalling when idle. Then always use the choke from cold, and in varying degrees until its warmed up.

One of the nicest things about the early Fireblades was a throttle stop adjuster that sat by your left knee, meaning idle settings could be tweeked at traffic lights.

Whenever I think of that bike I think of this silliness

I know the summer is over, but somebody do the right thing snap up NurseHolliday's NC29, sounds like a nice light project over the winter.
I've always had good experiences with autotrader with things selling in the first few days, as an alternative. -

Trying hard to think of reasons not to buy a Honda SP1. Hmmmm

I'll give you some, without ever having owned one.
They drink fuel, like a large car.
The fuel injection makes them coarse to ride.
The side-mounted radiators only work when moving quite fast, meaning the cooling struggles everywhere south of Edinburgh.
They are torture over long distances.
They vibrate enough to give you a very sore head.
The under slung exhaust means you cannot jack the front end off the ground easily.
They are top heavy, so fall over if you try the above. It makes a front tyre replacement 'tricky'.
Because they are super racey, the parts you'll need are super expensive.
The fuel tank is too small for anything more than cafe racing.
Because you'll regret it, and then want to sell it. And no one will buy it.
Because they make you look like you are trying too hard, and you will be.
Because they are just not that good.
And lastly, because the line of the silencers doesn't follow the line of the tail unit, they look fugly.
(I have ridden one, and couldn't wait to get off.)
Hope that works.

I take it you didn't like it? 3" hero blobs say it all.

Lots of 'Battle of The Twins', but not enough civility to make them a joy. I haven't ridden a proper Ducati, but the Honda and Suzuki 90 v-twins I've come across have been a bit of a disappointment. Perversely, I do like a Transalp.

But I liked the Aprilia RSV Mille better.
I rode one. It was lovely.

Power commander helps smooth out the fueling.
When the bike hits the floor the rads bend.

Shows how wide the body is.

My 97 TL1000S was anything other than a disappointment back in the day.
With just a pair of cans it made a dynoed 123bhp and toasted 916s for breakfast.
Very amusing bike.
I like the sp1/2s - they probably end up collectable even if they weren't built by HRC.
Aha - I read Husqvarna. Always getting my aitches confused. Nice bike!
