Really? (again, genuine question... I use one half link on my track bike, to get a better compromise with my rear wheel position - if I bring it too close to the BB, the tyre hits the non drilled "brake" bridge because I use 23c instead of 20c... Am I going to die because of a potentially failing half link?)
That's exactly the reason why I'm using one as well.
All I can say is that it's working well, for 2 years now so far.
Now that I have switched to tighter tires, I'm switching to regular chain but can be really helpful in some situations.
