Loinacus, was worried about the arrival of Capoue, not sure where he's going to play, and the fact we seem to have a surfeit of midfielders, both defensive and attacking, didn't ease my mind either. But Karlsen's article has made me slightly more comfortable, Capoue's arrival probably means the departure of Parker, Livermore, and (say its not so) Huddlestone.
But this point seems to make the arrival of Baldini and how he is working in concert with AVB to build a better squad, with the possibility of selling on younger players for more later in their careers, and a vision of the type of player we are looking to get in, make much more sense.
"one has to be impressed with the way that Spurs have worked the market this summer. They've had concrete targets and seemingly got the majority of players they wanted, picking players from the upper shelves with little guesswork, random buying or reliance on late agent recommendations. They've obviously had a plan: players with good strength and physique who will improve the team, all internationals and at a good age."
For whatever reason it seemed like we didn't have alternatives to the players we wanted, one target and that was it, and if we didn't get them, it was a scramble to get someone, anyone. Feels like we have a couple of options now, and if the price isn't right or we are outbid then its onto the next prospect.
