Yep, definitely a new group on an old frame. I'm not bothered about the pedals, I have spds on my mid 90s road bike because they are convenient and comfortable. pedals might be Anti porn but are just a sign that the bike is used, which makes it a nicer thing in my eyes.

for me its more about mismatching the purposed bits rather than look of pedals:)

personally imho the build is nice enough itself, and I am loving it even with slightly younger gruppo and pedals - it was the porn thread spirit talking through me.
thing about groupsets is that there is a certain period range groupsets from which still work on older frames as long as they are silver.
