  • Been experimenting with vegetarianism lately, and can report that the falafel wrap from Best Kebab with all the salad is one of the great cheap eats at £3.50

The one in between Dalston and Stokey? That place is awesome.

  • where's that then? am a big fan of falafel

Kingsland Road - just after Arcola St on the East Side of the street...

  • Personally, I'd rather have a Lamacuhn!

  • I don't know how many of you saw this, but I pledged last night for one of these - a home Sousvide / Water Circulator.

I know we've all been discussing home sous viding in coolers etc - but for longer cooks I think this definitely trumps that technique - and it looks pretty cool...

i know the one you mean, have been past it many a time. will check it out.

  • Never had a better falafel wrap than from Damascu Bite, bottom of Shoreditch High St.

  • This is the best crunchy stuff on the planet

Ow! I look forward to trying!

  • No it's in Stoke Newington on the West side of the street!

  • The one in between Dalston and Stokey? That place is awesome.

Aye, I was always a large chicken shish man, but the falafel ones are ready in about 2 mins compared to about 10 for the chicken, and I'm a hungry man

  • honey too!? must be quite brutally sweet.

Honey too, but then I do like sweet stuff and find that most things are improved with the addition of honey.

I forgot, I also had a handful of raisins in there. I also add raisins to everything; sweet or savoury.

You're thinking of Super Kebab, that gets a runner up prize along with Ali Baba.

Halloumi wrap at Super Kebab is pretty off the chain.

Have you seen the queues on a Friday and Saturday night??

2 mins to get your order, 15-20 mins to wait to order.

  • Oh shit - Best Kebab is the one near the Yucatan?

Best Kebab in North East London... GO!

My favourite is from Numara Bos Cirrik 2 nr. the Jolly Butchers in Stoke Newington - the Adana is unbelievable, massive and they serve it on great bread (which they also rest / turn the meat with, then grill, so it soaks up all the goodness and kind of caramalizes)

  • Their sister restaurant in Dalston (next to Bardens) is slightly better IMO, basing that on one dish though (their tomato and yoghurt dishes)

Yeah monster, I normally get in there around tea time, I don't mind waiting for the food but I hate the personal space politics in there, shuffling around to let people order, making sure you're keeping track of your own order, not standing in front of peoples faces, it's a minefield!

  • Me and Mrs Us fave little place is opposite Bardens, the little pide place, great lamucans, loads of salad, and it's always practically empty

  • ^yea love that place too, its also called mangal but i don't think its related to the other lot. they have a turkish pizza-esq oven and you get a great metal cup for the salty aryan drink you can sit in and have a lamachun and aryan for an insane £3

It's annoying when you're not too smashed but there's someone really drunk who looks like they might hurl over the back of your head at any moment. Standard fri/sat night affair for a kebab joint, but you can't just order and then stand outside to avoid all the annoying people there, you have to hold your place.

With the slush puppie machine full of Ayran? Yeah that's a good place.

  • Tad - Mare Street. Amazing vegetarian special for very little dollar. Favourite for me has got to be FM Mangal in Camberwell though. They get serious amounts of flavour into their meats.

    I'll raise you.

For me this beats jif anytime of day.

Has to be Mangal on Arcola Street. More a sit in than take out affair though.

Bos Cirrik on the Church St / Stoke Newington High St junction a close second.

  • ^^ No way!
