Marchisio make a mix and match system of sprockets .. There are some restrictions to the combinations and I'm guessing if you're using an alloy freehub it would eat into that which is one of the benefits (aside weight) on a shallow Shimano spline freehub of bunching the sprockets on a carrier to spread load.
